Trusting in God

Proverbs 28:26 says, “He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”  Proverbs 3:5-7 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.”  And Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”  How important it is to listen to God, rather than follow our own heart and emotions!

  1. You quoted some of my favorite verses Mitchell. There is no better place of comfort to be then to be resting in God's all consuming love displayed to us by the love of Jesus in dying on the cross. Yes, we are prone to sin because of the wickedness of our hearts, prone to follow after our own heart and emotions. Yet your thoughts triggered the memory of this beautiful verse in first John... "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

    Thanks again for posting Mitchell!
